Shabaana Kidy has a keen interest in the role of faith in sustainable development, alongside her existing research remit on food security and livelihoods in which she has undertaken studies looking into the potential for value chain upgrading within agriculture. She has also worked on tax justice with the Global Justice Program at Yale University, to better understand the impact of Illicit Financial Flows on economies of the Global South. Shabaana is co-convenor for the DSA study group 'Religion and Development' and represents Islamic Relief Academy as project partner on the AHRC research network 'Keeping Faith in 2030: Religions and the Sustainable Development Goals'.
